Our Founders

ZORIANNA HYWORON (B.SC. HON)

Zorianna began her professional career as an IT pioneer in the mid 60’s.She has served in senior management positions in private sector and public sector organizations, including Alcan, Air Canada, Manitoba Hydro, Mincome Manitoba, Ontario Hydro and the Manitoba Government’s Management Committee of Cabinet and Treasury Board. Prior to her move to entrepreneurship, Zorianna serves as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance and then of Industry, Trade & Technology for the Government of Manitoba. Zorianna is the Founder and CEO of InfoTech Inc. a company whose product, Wellness Checkpoint® is used in over 85 countries by global multinational companies for business risk management related to health and productivity.

Arriving in Canada with her parents as refugees, Zorianna has been an active member of the Canadian community. As member, leader and former executive of Plast Ukrainian Youth organization, former President and Board member, Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre, Carpathia Credit Union she has been directly involved in the growth of these organizations into major cultural and financial institutions. Zorianna served as National Co-Chair of the Ukrainian Centennial Commission, as Board member of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress , Founding Board member of the Wasyl Topolnicky Foundation, Chair of “Project 1000: A Celebration of Note” marking the millennium of Christianity in Ukraine, President of Alpha Omega Women’s Alumnae and member of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative of Help Us Help the Children.

She has served on various national councils and committees including the Associate Committee for Instructional Technology for the National Research Council of Canada and the CBC Advisory Council on Science & Technology. She has been an executive member of the local chapter of the Canadian Information Processing Society and Chair of CIPS’ National Conference, as founding Board member of the Manitoba Software Association and the Electronics Industry Association of Manitoba.

She has spoken at over 50 conferences around the globe and published articles in her area of work and expertise in various journals and industry publications.

Zorianna has received numerous awards including: the “ International Leadership Award in Health and Productivity Management” from the Institute for Health and Productivity Management, the “Canadian Workplace Wellness Pioneer Award presented by the Health Work and Wellness Conference, “Woman of Distinction” recognition from the YWCA, “Community Service Achievement Award” from the National Council of the Ukrainian Women's Congress, “Ukrainian Woman of the Year,” from Alpha Omega and national recognition as a “Woman of Invention”.

Our Founders

EUGENE HYWORON (P.ENG.)

Eugene had been employed as an electrical engineer by Manitoba Hydro, Winnipeg Hydro, Montreal Engineering Co. and Teshmont Consultants. Founded Steppe Enterprises Ltd. (an importer and distributor) and DAAD Holdings Inc. (a real-estate investment company) and he is currently President and Chairman of both companies as well as a Director and Officer of InfoTech Inc., an internet software company.

Eugene is past president of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Winnipeg Branch and organizer of the Ukrainian Week Festival and a past member of the Manitoba Folk Arts Council as well as one of the organizers of the Kyiv Pavilion in Folklorama. He is a past Board Member of the Ukrainian Cultural Centre (Oseredok) and is a past member of various school, community and political groups.

He is also a past Board Member of 16 years of St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral Board of Directors and served as President for 9 years as well as a current Member since 1988, of St. Mary the Protectress Millennium Villa Inc, a 72 unit non-profit senior housing complex and is the current Chairman of the Board.

DEMYAN HYWORON (B.SC.)

Demyan has over 18 years experience in the computer industry as Vice-President, Technology & Product Support for internet software company, InfoTech Inc.  Responsible for the development team of Wellness Checkpoint and support of client applications, Demyan has traveled around the world to maintain client systems.  Demyan is also Vice-President of DAAD Holdings, a Winnipeg based real estate company with over 15 commercial properties.  

Demyan’s community involvement includes: Head Trustee of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Charitable & Education Trust, national Treasurer of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (3 years) , board member of Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural & Educational Centre (9 years),Vice-President of the Council of Ukrainian Credit Unions of Canada (5 years) and active member of St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Demyan has been on the board of Carpathia Credit Union for 9 years and serves as chair of the audit committee, member of the property committee & HR committee as well as on the Wasyl Topolnicky Memorial Foundation.

Our Founders

DARIUS HYWORON (B.A., MBA)

Darius has spent the last 8 years working in International Development in Ukraine, Russia, Switzerland. He worked for development organizations including the World Bank, Freedom House, the Center for Ukrainian Reform Education and the International Organization for Migration. On completion of a degree in International Business from the Fletcher School, Darius has returned to Canada to work for Proctor and Gamble. He and his wife Mariah currently reside in Toronto.

Darius’ community work has included leadership training and work with youth in Plast Ukrainian Youth Organization and volunteer work with orphan, orphanage and anti-trafficking work of Help Us Help the Children in Ukraine and Canada.
